Children's Mental Health Week 2025 - Big Emotions
As part of this year's Children's Mental Health Week Year 5 worked in small groups to discuss 'big emotions' such as anxiety or embarrassment. We then had great fun creating imaginary scenarios to demonstrate how these different emotions might look in real-life. We discussed and role-played different ways that we could use to try to help ourselves or others overcome these big emotions.
Chinese New Year PE - January 2025
Year 5 recently played a terrific game of 'Dragon Tag' during their PE lesson as part of their Chinese New Year celebrations, where they had to create long Chinese Dragons by tagging each other - it was great fun! Then the children went inside to play a games of 'The Great Wall of China'; working together in small teams the children had to get different objects over the 'Great Wall' as quickly as they could. Great team work everyone!

Online Safety 2025
In Key Stage 2, children took part in a BBC bitesize live lesson with other schools from around the country. We learnt the acronym SCAM to help us stay safe online.
S - If it sounds too good to be true - check it out.
C - If you are contacted by someone out of the blue or it is unexpected, then don't trust it.
A - Never respond to requests for personal information.
M - Never respond to requests for money or trade requests they could be scammers!
We learnt to look out for spelling and grammar errors too.
Can you spot the scams in these two examples?
