Chinese New Year 2025

This half term, Year 1 showed a particular interest in Chinese New Year! In their Geography lesson the children worked hard to locate China on a map and established that this was in Asia. After learning this, we decided to get creative and make our own dragon puppets which we learnt were a part of one of the many traditions celebrated during Chinese New Year. The children had an excellent time with this and were able to develop their skills with folding as well as their knowledge of other countries traditions! Additionally, the children completed some excellent home learning where they had to research Chinese New Year and design their own Chinese lantern - the children really enjoyed designing the lanterns and they have all come up with excellent, unique designs!

A Walk Around Maldon - February 2025

This half term the Year 1 class went on a local walk around Maldon! We looked at lots of important places in Maldon and looked at the different types of houses that are in our local area. The children had lots of fun exploring their local town.
