Year 6 WW2 Workshop - June 2024

On Tuesday 18^th June, Year 6 took part in an exciting World War II workshop. We worked in small groups role playing what it would be like as an evacuee placed with a family. We heard the warning sirens during the Blitz and took cover! We also put tape on the windows of the hall to help protect us in case of bombing.

In the afternoon we made models of Anderson shelters and gas masks.  

We were very lucky to be able to handle artefacts from WWII such as gas masks, military helmets, newspapers and bullet casings. 

The day was extremely interesting and fun.
